Job Description:
- Design the architecture, infrastructure set up, deploy and manage applications on AWS
- Work closely with the development teams to gather system requirements, new service proposals and large system improvements and come up with the infrastructure architecture, leading to stable, well-monitored, performant and secure applications.
- Design next-generation application strategy using cloud-native and serverless architectures
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize the application performance using solutions like database indexes, Varnish, Memcache, Redis, CloudFront etc
- Automate deployments (CI CD) and other repetitive tasks using Shell/Python scripts or tools like Capistrano, Jenkins, CodeDeploy etc and implement auto-scaling and automated backups
- Implement configuration management for development, test, and production environments using tools like Chef/OpsWorks, Puppet, Ansible etc
- Control infrastructure costs by continually looking for opportunities to right-size servers and services
- Manage permissions, backup and performance across different databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres etc
- Act as technical and cultural change catalysts, accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of the DevOps best practices and techniques
- Innovate, audit, and monitor application and infrastructure and identify opportunities to improve performance
- Manage, mentor and provide technical guidance to the team
Skills/Competencies:
- 0-2 years of experience in DevOps and Enterprise Applications deployments on public clouds like AWS, GCP and Azure.
- Experience in a modern software development environment that is Agile and incorporates DevOps practices
- Hands-on experience on various AWS services like: EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudTrail
- Experience in systems automation, orchestration, deployment, and implementation
- Hands-on experience with DevOps Tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven
- Well-versed with shell scripting and Web-Servers (Nginx, Apache etc)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and ability to deliver under tight timelines
- Comfortable to contribute both as a lead as well as an individual
